La Salle College Student Essay Contest, Online Voting
The winner has been chosen from the 10 finalists in each section.
The winner in the Senior Section is Vincent Tsui from class 6D. His winning essay is entry 9.
The winner in the Junior Section is Jubi Li from class 4C. His winning essay is entry 8.

How to Vote
  1. Each essay is available as MS Word doc MS Word format and Acrobat pdf Acrobat pdf format.
  2. You can choose to vote in only one section or both. However, you are required to submit your vote one section at a time. Please do not abuse the system.
  3. After reading each essay, rate it with a score, 10 being the highest and 1 being the lowest. It is perfectly okay if more than one essay receive the same score.
  4. Check the radio button corresponding to the score.
  5. Check the scores for all the essays in the section for which you are voting, select the voter group to which you belong to, enter the voting code, enter your email address and then click to submit your vote.
  6. Vote confirmation will be sent to your email address immediately after your submission. The vote will not be counted until you have confirmed the vote according to the instructions detailed in the email.
How to Rate Give a rating between 1 and 10 to each of the following (the higher the better it is).
  1. main idea clearly expressed in the essay
  2. contents well organized and structured
  3. easy and comfortable to read
  4. interesting reference to La Salle (but not flattering)
  5. original and creative idea
The average of the 5 ratings will be a good indication of the overall score of the essay. If you think that the essay brings some useful new ideas, add some bonus points to the overall score to reflect your appreciation. Afterall, there is no right or wrong way to rate an essay. Judging is very subjective. Just be fair to every candidate!
